Ingredients

Directions

Combine the whipped topping and lime gelatin powder in a large mixing bowl. Stir together until no white streaks remain.

Add the remaining ingredients into the whipped topping mixture. Fold them together, stirring gently, until fully combined.

Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator, covered, for at least 8 hours to let the flavors develop more fully.

Add garnishes, if desired.

While this old-fashioned lime fluff salad with pineapple can be served in one big bowl at a party, it is also great served in single-size serving dishes, too.

Helpful Tips

  • Lime fluff can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. You will want to cover it with plastic wrap or a lid when storing it so that it doesn’t dry out.
  • Do not freeze this dessert ahead of time. It doesn’t freeze well.
  • You can make lime fluff in advance! In fact, I highly suggest doing so in order to get the best flavor out of the dish.
  • The marshmallows will get softer and gooier after storing for a day or two. Don’t worry! This is normal. And I think it tastes better that way.
  • If you have been storing the fluff salad for a day or two, you will want to stir it well before serving. Some of the liquid from the fruit will condense on the top, which is normal, but not great for presentation.
  • Want a stronger lime flavor? Drain the crushed pineapple before adding it to the bowl, then add in 2 Tablespoons of lime juice.
  • You can swap cottage cheese for the sour cream if you would like.
  • Regular mini marshmallows can be substituted for the fruity ones.
