Fireball Fluff Recipe

Yields: 10-12 servings
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Resting Time: 8 hours

Ingredients

  • 1 Box Cherry Jell-O (3 ounces)
  • One 16-oz. Tub Whipped Cream (such as Cool Whip)
  • One 10-oz. Jar Maraschino Cherries, drained and chopped
  • 2 ½ Cups Mini Marshmallows
  • 1 Cup Sour Cream
  • 1 Cup Chopped Pecans
  • 1/2 Cup Fireball Whiskey
  • 1 Tablespoon Ground Cinnamon
  • Red Hots (optional to garnish)
  • Extra Maraschino cherries (optional to garnish)

Directions

Combine the Cool Whip and the Jello-Mix powder in a large mixing bowl. Stir together until there are no white streaks left in the Cool Whip.

Add the rest of the ingredients, except for the garnishes, and mix together well.

You can serve this salad immediately, but it is much better if you cover and store in the fridge (preferably overnight) until it is ready to be served.

If chilling in the refrigerator, stir the salad together after removing and garnish with Red Hots and extra maraschino cherries, if desired.

To Store: Put in an airtight container and store in the fridge up to 5 days.

Helpful Tips

  • Pecans can be left out if you do not like them.
  • Refrigerating this salad overnight allows the marshmallows to soften and the flavors to become more robust.
  • Do NOT add more Fireball to the salad (even if you want it to be more boozy!) because the fluff salad will become too thin.
  • Cottage cheese can be substituted for the sour cream if you prefer.
  • Do not freeze this salad ahead of time.
  • When storing it in the fridge, you will want to stir it up before serving to distribute the moisture that has usually accumulated on the top.
  • After being stored a few days, the marshmallows will absorb the liquid and soften quite a bit. I actually like it when the marshmallows are more soggy!
